I have officially had my own business since August 2009 and it has really picked up this year. I have to say I really enjoy having my own business and being able to help couples with their invitations. It has become quite funny that I get really excited when I go into a paper store or a supplier and see all the different colours and textures. There are so many to choose from.
What I have noticed for this year is Pocketfolds will remain quite popular. I say spend the extra little money and get them as there are so many shapes and colours and designs that can be done. Most important it is much easier for your guests, they can have everything tucked away and not loose directions or reception details or the reply card.
Other trends that carry on this year is jewels and ribbon. Having a Jewel or your names or on the cover of the pocketfold adds an added elegance to your invitation, and try adding it with some ribbon.
Popular colours this year White, Brown, Black. With my invitation orders these are the most commonly requested. Adding a second accent colour will add a little punch of colour with any of these 3 colours.
Well I look forward to the rest of this year, and can't wait to get more clients and help them out. I love hearing the colour schemes that brides and grooms are doing. It is crazy to see how personalized weddings are becoming. I think it's great because there are so many weddings now and gives your guests a little change in scenery.
